Description
Diversity, equity, and inclusion matters within our library organizations and to our institutions. Yet many of our organizations struggle to answer some of the most basic questions around DEI.This study analyzed over 170,000 survey responses collected between 2014 and 2022 from patrons at 154 institutions, attempting to understand if students and faculty of color are experiencing library services in fundamentally different ways than their white peers. Presenters will use data to answer questions centered around library services' contribution to institutional efforts toward DEI. Are our services addressing the needs expressed by students and faculty of color? Learning Outcomes: Participants in this session workshop will gain an appreciation for the impacts library and IT organizations are making toward higher education DEI goals Participants in this session will better understand the power of quantitative survey methodologies to assess the impact of our services across a range of institutional strategic initiatives Through active participation, attendees will enhance their understanding of assessment in library settings and gain applicable skiils in interpreting and using survey methodologies
