Description
"to the nth" is a dancefilm that employs traditional research methods and multi-disciplinary collaboration to engage with physicist Al Barlett’s claim: “The greatest shortcoming of the human race is our inability to understand the exponential function.” The piece investigates the impacts of exponential growth and decay in physics, math, and economics, applying concepts of chaotic mixing and compound interest to how we might imagine the gain in momentum and participation in social movements like Black Lives Matter. Collaborators use the same source material to develop choreography, film editing, and sound design.
