Behind Hockey's Stars: A Statistical Analysis of Critical Hockey Team Metrics
Date of Creation
Summer 2017
Description
The NHL has been in existence for 99 years, but the game of hockey is changing. The integration of advanced analytics is permanently altering the standards to which NHL teams are held. This project is dedicated to explaining the regular season success of NHL teams by team metrics. Can an offensive juggernaut win without defense? How important is having an above average goalie? This model to predict NHL regular season success can answer these questions and more.
