Digital and print book developed in the course UNIV 205 Digital Depth: Contemporary Stories from the Coal Region under the guidance of Tulu Bayar. UNIV 205 is a half-credit Mellon Confounding Problems course with an intention to help the students find ways to develop a mindset that encompasses social responsibility and work ethic with a deeper understanding of the importance of inclusion of diversity when creating and publishing artistic work. This was a process in which the students interacted deeply both with the landscape and the residents of Anthracite coal region of Mt Carmel and Shamokin in Central Pennsylvania during the fall semester of 2019. -- inside front book jacket
