Description
Since the founding of the Republican Party in 1854, voters in Union County, Pennsylvania predictably vote Republican. What makes this noteworthy is the fact that this trend persisted despite national trends of switching party loyalty during the various political eras of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. In this talk, Dr. Peeler presents the data he analyzed, identifies a few outliers, compares the patterns of various wards to similar regions, and introduces the demographic changes that are slowly shifting the political spectrum. He concludes “bedrock moves but not very fast.”
