Description
If someone sends you 10 correct predictions for horse races and offers to send an 11th for a significant fee – setting you up for a big win -- would you pay for the 11th tip? If your answer was yes, you need to start thinking like a mathematician. This talk begins with what mathematics is and why mathematics matters. From there, we look at numbers – both real and imaginary – from a visual, historical and, of course, mathematical perspective.
