Description
Background: According to Quirk et al. (2016) and Sveen et al. (2023), older adults with personality pathology misuse the U.S. healthcare system, leading to billions of dollars in unnecessary costs annually (for example, by using the high-cost emergency room for routine medical care).
Hypothesis:
- Worse neuropsychological functioning will be associated with increased utilization of health care resources.
- Increased presence of pathological personality traits will be associated with increased utilization of health care resources.
