Since 2018, Bucknell faculty, staff, and students have collaborated with local organizations to better understand and develop proposals for restoration of a wetland area in South Williamsport known as Sylvan Dell. This site, now branded as The Robert Porter Allen Natural Area and the Sylvan Dell Environmental Center (Sylvan Dell for short) is a 227 acre former farmstead in South Williamsport, PA, bordering the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. It holds one of the largest remaining floodplain wetlands on the West Branch of the Susquehanna River.
