Abstract

Ascending Summits chose Summit Early Learning as our service project partner after a long decision-making process, an early childhood education center that serves over 800 families across 6 centers and classrooms in area public schools. Summit Early Learning made it clear that their first priority is always the families they serve which is why our service project focused on the renovation of classroom and outdoor spaces. Through our collaboration with Company C (who also selected Summit Early Learning) we were able to update both the interior and exterior of Summit by landscaping, painting, and organizing a variety of spaces. To raise money for Summit Early Learning, we partnered with Sweet Frog which would work in conjunction with our GiveButter fundraising page in order to create a lasting impact on Summit. Our GiveButter campaign was able to surpass our initial goal of $3000 to a grand total of $3400 which will all go directly to the funding of Summit Early Learning. We knew from the start that our collaboration with Company C on Summit Early Learning only meant that we would be able to have an even larger impact which is evident based on the fact that our combined fundraising amount for Summit was upwards of $8000. In order to cover the required costs of our service operations, our company elected to sell sweatshirts that reflected the idea that “This Feels Like Home”. Our business operations were an overwhelming success as we were able to sell all 201 of the sweatshirts that we purchased, selling out without needing our last selling day. The additional revenue that was generated from our sales, nearly $1000, was able to go directly to Summit. In total we were able to raise over $4,400 for Summit Early Learning.
