Abstract

Autumn Transition partnered with Transitions of PA, a crisis center offering advocacy, empowerment, and education to end violence. Our goal is to foster leadership, teamwork, and empathy among friends, family, and the public to raise awareness of domestic abuse and make a lasting impact on survivors for a safer, more supportive environment. At the Transitions of PA Administration Building, company members worked on fiscal filing (sorting documents, mailing letters, editing powerpoint presentations) while also renovating office space to maximize efficiency of the Transition’s workers. Our partnership with the campus sorority Alpha Chi Omega and collaboration with SpeakUp, creating a Silent Testimonies Event, reflected our commitment to spreading awareness throughout the school. Each group member shared a GiveButter link and QR code, to increase financial support and spread awareness about Transition's goal. An Autumn Transition held four restaurant fundraisers (Sweetfrod, All Star Bagels, Amami, and Bull Run) in which the proceeds went directly to Transitions. Our fundraising efforts were highly successful, surpassing our initial goal of $3,500. We raised well over $4,000, with a breakdown of funds: $2,019 from Givebutter, an equivalent of approximately $1000 in items donated, and over $1,321.14 from our fund-splits with local businesses. Despite the overall success, the Sweet Frog event underperformed due to underestimated portion donation. Moving forward, the Givebutter link will remain active until the end of the semester, allowing us to potentially reach a total of $5000.
