Abstract
CRUISING TO THE SUMMIT FALL 2022 This fall, Cruising to the Summit partnered with Summit Early Learning, located in Lewisburg, to provide children with a brighter and more colorful learning environment. While another company had already chosen to work with Summit, we siezed the opportunity to leave a long-lasting impact on one organization rather than small improvements to several. Collaboratively, we transformed the interior and exterior of Summit Early Learning nearly triple the amount of what we could have done by ourselves. We did so by painting the walls and the trim of three classrooms, creating two murals, assembling four children's picnic tables, raising a garden bed, filling in dirt around the playground, mulching, and power washing the exterior of the facility. Our service took place over the course of two and a half weeks.. To financially support Summit, we decided to host a Fun Run, open a GiveButter page, and sell blue and gray hoodies with a Jeep design. The Fun Run was 1 mile and included activities of face painting and pumpkin painting for children. Through the run and the GiveButter, we were able to generate significant funds for Summit. This process allowed us to reach a larger community and inform them of the positive change we were creating for the children. Additionally, the 211 hoodies featuring the Jeep design sold out within only three days of selling, making us the first company to sell out of our product. In total, Cruising to the Summit generated $5,046 from fundraising operations and $2,008 from business sales to go towards Summit Early Learning.
