Abstract
In Pink Field, I combine various pink mattress fabrics in an attempt to expose values and gender stereotypes that are deeply engrained in our culture. Invoking the monumental formalist paintings of the abstract expressionists, these works still deal with issues of form and authorship, but also with the subversion of traditional values and a critique of the material culture itself.
